The next LRE Book Challenge will take place on March 23rd at Northampton Schools for Girls. Information will be e-mailed to schools soon.

LRE Book Challenge 2008: Celebrating the National Year of Reading - The Battle of the Books Continues!
Once again teams from schools countywide team battled to win book prizes bundles of the latest fiction titles, book tokens and the much coveted Book Challenge Trophy. This year the quiz took place at Manor School Sports College which hosted 27 teams from 14 schools. Categories of tricky questions included Malorie Blackman, First Lines, Books on Film and TV and Animals in Literature. The winning teams were:
1st : Oundle Allstars - Oundle & Kings Cliffe Middle School 2nd : Moulton Mindreaders - Moulton School 3rd : NSG Page Turners - Northampton School for Girls
School librarians took part in their own challenge to win books for their libraries! The prizes were presented by Mrs Linda Brooks, Head Teacher of Manor School Sports College. Many thanks to Alison Hobson Manor School's librarian whose energy and attention to detail ensured that the quiz ran smoothly!! |

LRE Book Challenge 2007: More Schools, More Teams, Even More of a Competition!
The 2007 Book Challenge took place at Weston Favell School where 29 teams from 16 secondary and middle schools competed. Each team answered questions on categories including Artemis Fowl, Philip Pullman and the CILIP Carnegie Medal. The winning teams were:
1st : The Awesome Oundle Book Worms - Oundle & Kings Cliffe Middle 2nd : NSG Cool Readers - Northampton School for Girls 3rd : The Daemons - Brooke Weston City Technology College

LRE School Book Challenge 2006 proves to be a fierce contest!
12 schools represented by 22 teams of Y7, 8 and 9 students took part in LRE's Book Challenge at Huxlow Science College. Students tested their knowledge of children's literature answering questions from categories ranging from Who Wrote the Book to the Alex Rider Spy stories and the world of Harry Potter.
The winning teams were from: 1st Bishop Stopford School 2nd Sponne School and Technology College 3rd Brooke Weston City Technology College. The event was a great success with thanks to the Huxlow Science College and its librarian Liz Drage, and for prize donations from Waterstones, Heinemann and Random House |
