Service description:
An activity centre specifically designed to provide a wide range of services to adults with disabilities.

The Care with a Difference team are dedicated to providing an outstanding range of services that make a significant difference to the lives of their service-users. They provide one-to-one care, group activities, and social events for adults with disabilities. The team are particularly proud of Dance with a Difference - a fantastic dance class for adults with disabilities.

The centre has a coffee shop serving snacks and drinks, a pool table, a fully-qualified (and insured) beauty therapist and a professional dance studio. It is conveniently located in the town centre, and is easily accessible by public transport. There is also limited parking on the premises.

Dance with a Difference

Dance with a Difference dance classes including Wheelchair dancing, dance, and tap.

A drama club

The Care with a Difference Drama Club is a great way for adults with disabilities to socialise and have fun. Drama teaches people to project, it improves speech, elocution and reading. It also helps people improve their self-esteem and build confidence.

The Drama club is held on Fridays 1:30pm to 3pm.

An arts and crafts club

Care with a Difference’s arts and crafts session is a great way for adults with disabilities to socialise and have fun. Arts and crafts projects can enhance communication skills, improve coordination, develop perceptual skills, and increase awareness of different senses. Hands-on projects allow for both individual and group achievements, encourages a sense of accomplishment, and increases self-esteem.

The Arts and Crafts club is held on Mondays 10am to 12pm and 12:30pm to 2:30pm.

A choir club

The Care with a Difference Choir is a great way for adults with disabilities to socialise and have fun. While the feel-good effects of singing have long been recognised, there is growing evidence that it can have a positive impact on physical and emotional wellbeing too. What’s more, singing in a group often creates a sense of community.

The Choir Club is held on Saturdays 1pm to 2:30pm.

Care with a Difference Tuesday Disco

A disco is held at the Plough Hotel on Tuesday evenings (7pm to 9:30pm).
