is a service specifically designed to support people with a disability to live independently, find paid employment, or volunteer in the community.
LIVE knows that everyone that joins them is an individual, and they listen closely to their needs so that, together, they can create a plan that works. For you, the LIVE programme might be a journey, helping you to decide what you want to do and supporting you to build the skills you need to get there. LIVE will take you through each task step-by-step, from increasing your confidence to CV-writing. On the other hand, you might only need the programme to develop a few key areas, such as budgeting or finding the right training.
LIVE’s goal is to build your skills and help you find a new role so you can be as independent as possible and live your life, your way.The LIVE Steps
• Customer Profile and Aspirations
• Employment Needs
• Development Plan
• Independent Living Skills and Vocational Training
• Employment or Self-Employment
Customers of LIVE have been trained to deliver many successful horticulture and gardening projects within the community. Through community involvement and social participation like the gardening projects, LIVE works to build the confidence of disabled people, raising aspirations and self belief that more can be achieved.Shared Lives - Living With A Supportive Family
If one day you might like to live by yourself, but are not ready at the moment, you may be interested in the Shared Lives scheme.
Every year, adults who have a range of different needs are matched with caring and supportive families or individuals who welcome them into their homes and provide full-time support.
If you decide that Shared Lives is right for you, Olympus Care talk to you about the support you need and then carefully look for a carer and surroundings that meet these requirements.
Once you have settled in, they regularly visit to make sure you are happy, and that the support you are getting is working for you. You may either decide to use the Shared Lives service to look for a long-term home or short-term respite break. Some people look for permanent homes, whereas others just need a short break overnight or for a few days. Assistive Technology
