Service description:
Deafconnect can provide:

Information and advice about work, interpreters, health, crime prevention, equipment, benefits, social and leisure activities.

Support to fill in forms, understand leaflets, read letters, make phone calls.

Advocacy to make sure that your voice is "heard". We will work with you to ensure that your opinions are taken into account, you have the information necessary to make informed choices about your life, you have the confidence to represent yourself well in all situations.

Drop in for all services on:
Wednesday: 1pm to 4pm
Friday: 9.30am to 12.30pm

For all Deaf, Deafened, hard of hearing and Deafblind people, their families & friends. Appointments not necessary, but , if you wish to see a particular member of staff it would be advisable to book a time with them in advance.

We offer support for deaf:

INTERPRETING SERVICE

- British Sign Language (BSL)
- Sign Supported English (SSE)
- Lip-Speakers
- Note-takers
- Deafblind

We have standard referral forms for those who ask and for new clients. Referrals can be made via email or telephone to us directly using the below contact details. There is no assessment process however our service is specifically aimed for hearing impaired people within Northamptonshire only. Our service is open referral by anyone or themselves.

Our organisation as a whole is aimed at Deaf and hearing impaired people in Northamptonshire. This includes all members of the community with any level of hearing loss and/or tinnitus.

More specifically, our Children and Families service is mainly aimed at families with hearing impaired children aged 0 -18 years (see separate entry). Although we also work with deaf families with hearing children as part of our service. We accept referrals from other professionals and work with them jointly to support the needs of deaf people in Northants.
