Wheelchairs help disabled children and young people reach their full potential by providing mobility and independence.

To date Variety has provided over 4,000 wheelchairs with a new one being delivered every 6 days.

Variety provides manual, powered and sports wheelchairs, with grants up to £10,000. Variety will be consider more if required.

Referrals for grants need to accompanied by a supporting letter from a suitable professional (e.g. physio or occupational therapist).



Equipment Grants

Variety's equiment grants programme provides vital support to children living with sickness and disablity.

Variety aim to provide whatever is needed with grants ranging from £100 - £6000. And more if needed.

Variety cover medical equipment such as monitoring equipment and Molli suits, basic care equipment such as feeding tubes, mobility equipment such as car seats and kiddiwalkers, sensory play facilities and much more.

Great Days Out

These day trips are provided free for children from special needs schools thanks to the generosity of our corporate partners and the willingness and dedication of our volunteers.

Sunshine Coaches

Variety Sunshine Coaches are open to schools and non-profit making groups and organisations catering for sick, disabled and/or disadvantaged children. There are over 1500 Variety Sunshine Coaches on the road all over the UK with 86% of passengers having physical, learning or sensory disabilities. Trips are typically for educational, recreational or vocational activities.

Having their own Sunshine Coach enables schools and organisations to plan activities without worrying about the cost and timing of public transport. 97% of coaches are used many times a week, often several times a day.

There are four types of vehicles to choose from and organisations are requitred to make a financial contribution to the cost of the coach:

• 14 seater without a taillift
• 13 seater with a taillift
• 17 seater without a taillift
• 17 seater with a taillift

Over the least few years, Variety has awarded more than 1 coach a week!
