Service description:
The Children's Occupational Therapy Service helps children and young people obtain (and maintain) the skills they need to achieve their full potential. Their specialised therapists support them into becoming as independent as possible, and work in the patients’ home, at school, and in the wider community.

Occupational therapists help with self-care tasks such as eating, drinking, using the toilet, bathing, dressing, and personal safety. They also help with play and leisure, and school participation (using classroom equipment and an understanding of the curriculum). The service assesses fine motor skills and coordination, then makes recommendations for specialist equipment and minor adaptations.
