Volunteer Car Service
Wellingborough and Kettering and surrounding villages.

To help the elderly and disabled travel to medical appointments. Trips can be to a local GP, a hospital, an optician, a dentist, or other medical appointment.

Whilst medical appointments take priority, the service will also take people to visit relatives in hospital and care homes.

Volunteer drivers use their own cars to take members to their medical appointments. Drivers will collect you from your home in plenty of time. The drivers will wait up to 2 hours for you and take you home.

There is a small annual membership fee to pay. Fares are paid directly to the driver to cover expenses and include a small admin charge. If you are attending an NHS hospital and claim certain benefits, you may be able to reclaim the cost of the fare; you will need to enquire at the hospital.
