The Intensive Support Team (IST) is a community based service providing assessment and treatment to individuals with a learning disability (IQ below 70), 14 years and over who are experiencing mental ill health and / or who present behaviour that challenges existing systems of support. ting systems of support

This multi-disciplinary team of nurses, psychologist, occupational therapist, speech and language therapist (SALT) and support workers is also supported by a duty clinician role who responds to urgent and deteriorating presentation

IST receive all their referrals via the Community Team for People with a Learning Disability (CTPLD)
