Service description:
The ADHD and Asperger's Team offer detailed diagnostic assessments for children aged 5-18 years-old with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), and Asperger’s syndrome. They also offer post-diagnosis support.

The team helps develop coping strategies for the patient and their families, to promote independent living skills and offer support with further education and employment. They also work with families to give them all the information they need, and provide workshops where families can learn more.

The team has many highly-skilled professionals, including clinical psychologists, clinical nurse specialists, occupational therapists, and support workers.

Referrals are made by GPs, or a members of the community mental health team, social services, or an appropriate member of staff from a hospital ward or care unit.

Professional Consultation Slots (Pilot)

Mondays and Wednesdays until December 2017, professional staff can contact the team to

• Discuss possible or diagnosed ADHD and/or ASD
• Advice on referrals
• Signposting to relevant services
• Discussions around training, support and consultation
