The Children and Young People Community Eating Disorder Service is a countywide, psychology-led, day unit provision (community / outpatient) for eating disorders, which offers assessment and treatment to children and young people with a diagnosis.
Based at new facilities at The Brambles in Northampton, the service offers a 24-hour service, working with children and young people who suffer from eating disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder (BED), Bulimia Nervosa, Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (EDNOS), or other similar eating, weight, and shape problems that have a strong emotional aspect to them.
The team is made up of experienced specialist clinicians, including clinical and counselling psychologists, specialist nurses, and a dietician.
Referrals can be made by a healthcare professional, such as a GP, a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), or the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).
