Service description:
Our services provide mental health support across Northamptonshire. For children and young people who are experiencing mental health difficulties that are severe, enduring and complex, we provide direct interventions. We also offer consultation, support and advice to professionals working with children, young people and families.

Our team is made up of a range of professionals including doctors, psychologists, nurses, therapists, social workers and mental health practitioners, as well as assistant practitioners and administration staff.

What we do

- Our service is provided through four teams who all work together to provide a comprehensive service.
- Our prevention and community engagement team provides training based on referral trends and needs, consultations to support and advise professionals and short-term brief intervention work.
- Our initial assessment and intervention team assess and follow up referrals with monthly reviews and provide a skills-based workshop programme for children and young people, as well as parent workshops.
- Our specialist intervention team provides a range of evidence-based interventions, including individual therapy, family therapy, therapeutic groups and psychiatric assessments and reviews.
- Our children’s response team provides a fast response to children and young people when a case worker is not currently allocated or available. They also respond to crisis situations that may otherwise result in hospital attendance or admissions.

Referrals: Professionals can make referrals to child and adolescent mental health specialism (CAMHS) via RMC.
