Elective Home Education is the term used to describe parents’ decisions to provide education for their children at home instead of sending them to school.
The Local Authority supports the right of parents to educate their child at home and work in partnership with parents to ensure the child receives a suitable education that takes into account their age, ability, aptitude and any special educational needs they may have.

What should you do if you want to educate your child at home?

Parents making this decision should inform the head teacher of your child's school in writing. The school are then required to inform us. If your child has never attended school, please inform us of your decision to educate at home by emailing ehe-admin@northamptonshire.gov.uk
