Service description:
The Early Help and Prevention team (formerly the Targeted Prevention Team) is a part of the Early Help and Prevention offer to families in Northamptonshire. The Team works with families to help prevent exclusion from home, education and employment. At times many families need extra support and the team works in partnership with families to find the best way forward.

The Early Help and Prevention Team offers support to families in their home and communities. The support offered is voluntary and is there for families who want to engage in positive change for their family. We will assess and plan what is needed with you, tackling the challenges faced by your family. We do this through the now known as Early Help Assessment (EHA),which your family may already be working on or maybe something new to you.

Early Help and Prevention Teams also work with families who have recently received support from Social Care and need help to sustain changes made and to engage with support in the wider community. Presenting issues include: parenting capacity and capability, challenging behaviour, neglect or emotional abuse, domestic abuse, substance or alcohol abuse, mental health or emotional wellbeing issues. The service can refer to other services for additional support as part of the plan for a family.
