The Glasspool Charity Trust makes small grants to individuals in need. The usual aim of the grant is to help the beneficiary over a short-term crisis.

Please note: the trust does not accept applications from individual members of the public. Applications must be made by a referring agency (with a bank account in its own name) that can administer grants on the trust's behalf.

The Glasspool Charity Trust only accepts grant applications via:

• A statutory organisation that provides healthcare, social care, or an advice service
• A charity that directly provides (or is contracted to provide) statutory healthcare, social care, or an advice service
• Citizens Advice
• The prison or probation service - National Offender Management Service (NOMS)
• A tenancy support worker employed by either a local authority, an industrial and provident society, or a housing association (which must be registered with the Housing Corporation)

The trust will not make a grant where there is a reasonable expectation that funding is available from other sources (particularly statutory funds).

They will also consider requests for the following:

• White goods
• Beds and bedding
• Essential household items
• Clothing, including school uniforms
• Baby needs
• Travel expenses for hospital visits etc.
• Contribution towards equipment and adaptations for people with disabilities (where there has been an occupational health therapist recommendation)
• Vocational materials and training (where there is clear evidence of an employment offer)
• Driving lessons/tests (where there is clear evidence of an employment offer)
• Flooring (where there is an exceptional circumstance for people with disabilities)
• Educational computer equipment/television (where there is a permanent or substantial disability/illness)
