The Down's Syndrome Association is a British charity which describes itself as being the only organisation in the UK that focuses solely on all aspects of living successfully with Down's syndrome.

Its headquarters are at the Langdon Down Centre, which was originally built as a private hospital by John Langdon Down, the first physician to describe Down syndrome. The centre features the Langdon Down Museum of Learning Disability and the Normansfield Theatre.


o Runs a helpline
o Provides information about all aspects of living with Down's syndrome, including specialist advice on benefits, education, health and social care
o Advises new parents or anyone with questions
o Promotes and facilitates information exchange between members of various groups
o Advises on employment for people with Down's syndrome

Raises money for the association through events, sponsorship and trusts

o Gives key messages to the media, public and professionals
o Influences policy making
o Responsible for external publications

Runs courses throughout the UK for members, professionals, and carers

Administers new members, existing members and affiliated groups
