Service description:
Alfe's Cause is a charity run by paediatric oncology parents (parents of children with cancer). The charity provides a support network for Northamptonshire families whose children have a long-term or life-limiting illness, particularly (but not exclusively) cancer.

Alfe's Cause supports families by:

• Arranging and funding monthly activity meetings around the county
Alfe's Cause gives parents the chance to talk to one another while their children play and build new friendships inclusively

• Working in partnership with other local charities to advise and signpost families appropriately

• Providing small one-off grants, arranging gifts, or purchasing items for children and their families to make their day-to-day life easier
Previous purchases include a bed for a child, and a sun shade so a child could play with their siblings in the garden

• Arranging wishes for terminally ill children

• Raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of childhood cancer
Alfe's Cause distribute information cards throughout the county and give presentations at libraries, events, and groups

• Providing care packs to Northampton General Hospital children's wards
For when families are admitted to the ward and don't have time to gather overnight essentials
