Service description:
Independent Living is a self-supporting website that provides impartial information about living independently with a disability. It features buying guides for a range of aids to daily living, mobility, and independence. The website also caters for professionals, with buying guides for equipment such as care home furniture, hoists, and pressure management systems.

The Independent Living News Centre features case studies, new product focus, industry news, podcasts, guest blogs, and newsletter archives. It gathers news about various aspects of living with a disability (or caring for someone who cannot live independently), including information about benefits, legislation, keeping warm and well, fall prevention, and so on.

The Advice Centre is full of information and resources about welfare benefits, keeping fit and eating well, making your home safe and accessible, and legal and statutory guidance on subjects including safe manual handling, carers’ support, the Mental Capacity Act, transporting wheelchairs, help with holidays, etc.

Independent Living’s weekly Newsletter highlights the latest developments in health and social care, and is suitable for professionals, family carers, and disabled individuals. It includes new products and services, changes in legislation, and much more.
