Why choose SLC?

SLC offers a wide range of full and part-time courses with flexible start dates throughout the year. Whether you are a school leaver or an adult learner, we can help you gain the right skills and qualifications you need for your future study or career. Every year, many of our students progress to employment or higher level courses through studying here. We pride ourselves on our friendly approach and the individual attention we give to our students.

We provide an Apprentice Recruitment Service for employers and individuals which is one of the largest in the East Midlands. Our Recruitment Team offers free specialist support and can work with you to find the right opportunity across a range of industries.

You will be joining a welcoming college full of people from different backgrounds. As well as gaining new skills, you will develop your confidence, meet new people and discover new and exciting career prospects.

The Enrichment Team will ensure that your experience of student life is full of exciting opportunities to get involved in trips and events with regular sports activities and recreational clubs held throughout the year, there is something for everyone.

At SLC, you can be sure that you will find experienced tutors providing the highest standard of learning. There will be excellent opportunities for you to achieve your career ambition or to secure your place at University. If you are unsure of which direction to take, our Careers Team are here to guide you.

Our Additional Support Team is here to support you during your studies and help you achieve your learning goals. The Team offer Mentoring and our Learning Coaches provide one-to-one support to learners with a learning difficulty or disability. The Team are committed to improving numeracy and literacy in all areas of college work and offer dyslexia screening and support.
