To enable all of our pupils to feel valued and to reach their full potential, both academically and socially. We recognise them as individuals.
We aim for them to be safe and secure, happy, confident, respectful of themselves, of others and of the environment, positive, adaptable and successful.
At Farthinghoe School we recognise the importance of the whole child and strive to ensure that all pupils achieve their potential in all areas. We value the entire curriculum and focus on pupils’ personal, social, emotional and academic needs, whilst maintaining high standards.
We believe that children should:
be secure and happy whilst at school; be able to work both in a range of groupings (ability and age) and independently, caring for one another and enhancing each others learning experiences; be given time to complete work to a high standard, using the best resources and time to reflect on their achievements; develop skills to equip them for life and the ever changing nature of society - we particularly embrace developments in ICT; have learning skills that they can transfer to other contexts and use in their everyday lives; and be taught the importance of traditional values such as honesty, perseverance, pride, respect, politeness and patience.
