Service description:
Park Junior School is a school for children aged 7 to11 and is situated in the town centre of Wellingborough. The school currently has 244 children on roll and is two formed entry for each year group. Their main feeder Infant School is The Avenue Infant school and is located close by.

At present, number of children who are entitled to Free School Meals number is 12%, 25% are registered as Pupil Premium and 45% are from minority ethnic families (with 26% of pupil’s first language believed not to be English).

There is an SEN Unit for Social, Behavioural and Emotional Needs which has been graded as outstanding (Ofsted Feb 13). The school has 10 places for this SEMH Unit and takes pupil from all over North Northamptonshire.

The school’s infrastructure is being continually adapted to meet the needs of a diverse and vibrant curriculum. They have placed extra emphasis on IT resourcing to meet the needs of today’s continual developments in the world of computing and to optimise children’s learning in this important curriculum area. The school recently won the Race to the Top Computing Award for Northamptonshire

At Park Junior School, a great focus is given to the provision of extra-curricular clubs with an impressive number of clubs available to children across the school. Their sports provision is also important to the ethos of the school, with every child to take part in a variety of sports whether in lessons, in clubs or through competitive opportunities.
