Home-Start Northampton supports families living with young children ( at least one child will be under 5) across the Northampton Borough area deal with whatever life throws at them. They support parents through a difficult time, helping to improve their confidence and build better lives for their children. The benefits of support include; improved health and well-being and better family relationships.
Home-Start provide one-to-one support for parents from trained and committed home-visiting volunteers for 2 to 3 hours each week. All volunteers are parents themselves or have parenting experience. The support is tailor-made to meet the needs of the family. Support is for up to six months but if there is a requirement for it to continue further that is considered.
Parents and volunteers often develop a trusting relationship which leads to powerful change within the family.
In addition to home visiting support, Home-Start Northampton provides at least three social events for supported families a year.
All inquiries for support should be made to the Home-Start office and can only be made with the family's consent.
