Service description:
Home-Start Northampton supports families living with young children (at least one child will be under 5) across the Northampton Borough area deal with whatever life throws at them. They support parents through a difficult time, helping to improve their confidence and build better lives for their children. The benefits of support include; improved health and well-being and better family relationships.

Home-Start provide one-to-one support for parents from trained and committed home-visiting volunteers for 2 to 3 hours each week. All volunteers are parents themselves or have parenting experience. The support is tailor-made to meet the needs of the family. Support is for up to six months but if there is a requirement for it to continue further that is considered.

Parents and volunteers often develop a trusting relationship which leads to powerful change within the family.

In addition to home visiting support, Home-Start Northampton provides at least three social events for supported families a year.

All enquiries for support should be made to the Home-Start office and can only be made with the family's consent.

Referral route is directly to the Home-Start Northampton office.
