Service description:
The aim of the Northamptonshire Baby Room Project is to share knowledge about infant learning and development. It brings together recent research information, especially about babies’ brain development and combines this with practitioners and parental experiences of living and working with babies and very young children.

Threading brain development through three themed sessions, balancing amazing information with fun activities and making resources to take away stimulated energy in people to go forward and make changes.

The Northamptonshire Baby Room Project provides people with a framework to use to develop and be creative about how they can enhance connections being made in the brain through play and interaction.

Practitioner training is provided for:

• Early years practitioners in private, voluntary and maintained early years settings
• Professionals working with families with infants under two years old
• Universal services practitioners
• Targeted services professionals

Parent or Carer training

Parents/carers accessing universal services through Children's Centres in Daventry, Towcester, Northampton, Corby, Wellingborough, Kettering can be referred to the Baby Room Project Parents Courses by early years practitioners and professionals (such as health visitors) who think that they may benefit from increased understanding of infant parent relationships and impact on overall development

Three sessions each of two and half hours covering:
• Early Infant brain development
• Infant emotional development
• Playing and laughing
