Primary school admissions - key dates and deadlines

  • Read the information on this website carefully
  • Visit schools on open evenings and read school prospectuses
  • Attend the school admissions application events
  • Read schools' oversubscription admission criteria
​Deadline for applying15 January 2017 at 5pm - closing date for applications
  • Submit your preference form by the closing date
  • Send your additional letters and documents (if any) to the preferred school(s) in support of your application(s)
  • If we receive your application after 5pm on 15 January 2017 your application will be considered as a late application and will be processed in our additional rounds of allocation (see below)
Offers of school placeTuesday 18 April 2017
  • Offer letters posted to all on-time applicants
  • View your offer online if you applied online
​Next steps18 April 2017 onwards
  • We will assume you have accepted the allocated place unless you let us know otherwise
  • Apply to join a waiting list by sending us an email or a letter
  • We will not withdraw a school place solely because you are dissatisfied and decline the offer. We must have notice that your child has a school place elsewhere. This is because we have a duty to ensure that all children are receiving their education entitlement.
​Additional rounds of applications (late applications)

Submission dates for additional rounds of applications:

11 May 2017 (process starts 18 May 2017 and takes 2-3 weeks)

13 June 2017 (process starts 20 June 2017 and takes 2-3 weeks)

27 June 2017 (process starts 4th July 2017 and takes 2-3 weeks)

Applications received after 27 June 2017 will be processed according to our in year policy from the end of July 2017.

The allocation process can take several weeks, depending on how many applications are received.

There is no need to contact us after completing the form - we will contact you once a decision has been made.
