East Hunsbury Primary School: admissions information

​East Hunsbury Primary School, Penvale Road, Northampton NN4 0QW

Oversubscription criteria: September 2018 entry

Places will be allocated to pupils who have a statement of SEN or EHC Plan that names the school as appropriate provision. When there are more applications for places than there are places available, priority will be given in the following order:

  1. Children in public care or previously in public care.
  2. Pupils with a brother or sister continuing at the school at the time of admission of the child.
  3. Pupils who live closer to the preferred school than any other school (the boundary of the urban area in which this criterion operates is the A45 to the East of East Hunsbury. Therefore the following schools will not be considered as a closest school: Wootton Primary, Preston Hedge’s Primary, Caroline Chisholm School, Hardingstone Academy).
  4. Other pupils.

Tiebreaker

If the admission number is exceeded within any criterion priority will be given to those who live closest to the school. The boundary of the urban area in which criterion (iii) operates is the A45 to the East of East Hunsbury. For children living in the urban area of East Hunsbury, schools outside this boundary will not be considered when deciding the closest school in criterion (iii).

Places will be allocated to pupils who have a Special Education Needs or Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan that names the school as appropriate provision. When there are more applications for places than there are places available, priority will be given in the following order:

  1. Children in public care or previously in public care.
  2. Pupils with an older brother or sister continuing at the school at the time of admission of the younger child.
  3. Pupils who live closer to the preferred school than any other school (the boundary of the urban area in which this criterion operates is the A45 to the East of East Hunsbury. Therefore the following schools will not be considered as a closest school: Wootton Primary, Preston Hedges Primary, Caroline Chisholme School, Hardingstone Primary).
  4. Other pupils.

If the admission number is exceeded within criterion (3) priority will be given to those who live furthest from the nearest alternative school. If the admission number is exceeded within any other criterion priority will be given to those who live closest to the school. The boundary of the urban area in which criterion (3) operates is the A45 to the east of East Hunsbury. For children living in the urban area of East Hunsbury, schools outside this boundary will not be considered when deciding the closest school in criterion (3) – or when applying a tiebreaker in criterion (3).
