Service description:
A commissioned service building upon the Universal Children’s Centre Services offered by Northamptonshire LibraryPlus.

We offer locality based Early Help support services for children under 5 and their parents/carers in need of extra help, through our group-work programme at Kingswood Children’s Centre and various community venues, or via support in the family home - as follows:-

Information and Advice Services:
Supplying information about a range of local services including childcare, employment support, and specialist professional support for children with additional needs (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).

Stay and Play Services:
Supporting parents in their role as their children’s first educators through a variety of activities, including access to our Little Sparkles Group and Music Therapy for children with additional needs.

School Readiness Services:
Working in partnership with parents and local childcare providers to improve outcomes for children.

Health, Lifestyles and Well Being Services:
Providing complementary universal health services, and specifically targeted activities to improve outcomes for parents and children.

Ante-natal and post natal support delivered in partnership with local Midwives and Health Visitors includes access to universal Health Visitor Drop-In Clinic. In addition specific support via appointment only clinics includes Ante-natal support, Health Assessments, plus Speech and Language Therapy.

Improved Parenting and Family Support Services:
Providing specifically targeted support and Early Help services for families that need extra help; this may be via an Early Help Assessment (formerly CAF) and our family visiting outreach support service, and access to the Solihull Parenting Programme.

Includes support for Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and Looked After Children and their families, and children ‘in need’ or on ‘Child Protection’ Plans. We also offer access to victim and perpetrator domestic abuse interventions (Northamptonshire Thresholds and Pathways Level 3).

Services to improve adults’ personal skills, education and employability:
Support via Citizens Advice Bureau for benefits and debt advice, access to Adult Learning Service opportunities, and JobCentre Plus.

We also provide access to holiday activities for 5-8 year olds at a small additional charge.
