Our overall mission is to encourage the development of sustainable, integrated quality sports provision for people with learning disability from grass roots through to elite International opportunities and to develop the potential of people with learning disability by encouraging and facilitating their participation in sporting activities at United Kingdom and International level; advancing through sport their education, training and social development assisting their integration into society.
Athletes with learning disability in the UK are classified by either UKSA or INAS-FID before they can compete in international events and some competitions in the UK. This process is sometimes called "Athlete Registration".
The UK Sports Association for People with Learning Disability is unique - there is simply no other organisation in the UK that carries out the work that we do.
You could begin by getting involved with our volunteering program and using your expertise to help us reach our goal. We are always in need of dedicated volunteers with a wide range of skills – from administrators, to event managers, photographers, researchers, marketing and communications – the list goes on – so give us a call for more information.
You could join our dedicated fundraisers, the life blood of support for our work – whether office based, or indeed by fundraising in your local community or get your employers on board, or staff team to get involved! If fundraising isn’t your thing, why not become one of our regular donors or could make a one-off donation, which is certain to go a long way. All these different ways are simple and easy to set up – just get in contact.
