Children in care - get involved with our new charity

We’re calling upon children and young people in care to get involved with our new Corporate Parenting Charity by helping us name it and come up with ideas for the charity logo. The charity is for you, and we want you to play a big part in creating it.

Your charity, your ideas

It’s an exciting time at Northamptonshire County Council as we get closer to launching our Corporate Parenting Charity. If you are a child or young person in care, this charity is for you and is being set up to give you the support and opportunities you deserve.

The name and logo is a very important part of the charity, and will be used across all our communications including online and in print. This includes on our website, fundraising activities, bids for sponsorship and grants, marketing materials, and lots more!

It will need to appeal to lots of different people so the name and logo should:

  • be professional
  • represent care, support and opportunities
  • be creative but clear
  • represent children and young people

How you interpret this is up to you and we’re looking forward to seeing your ideas!

How to submit your ideas

For your ideas to be considered you must be:

  • a child or young person in care,
  • aged between 7 and 16 years old

You can choose to send us:

  • your logo design and why you have chosen this
  • your idea for the charity name and why you have chosen this
  • both of the above

Along with your ideas, please include your:

  • name
  • age
  • address
  • contact phone number
  • social worker's name

Alternatively, you can hand your entry to your social worker who will drop it off at the central address at One Angel Square.

Closing date

  • Thursday 30 November 2017

What happens next?

A selection of your ideas will be chosen to show managers in the charity team, and they will decide which ones will go on to be professionally designed and potentially used for the new charity brand.

If your ideas are chosen, we will get in touch with you.

It may be that we combine more than one idea, in which case we will get in touch with everyone who had an idea that influenced the final design.

You will also have the chance to have your say on how the charity can support you.
