Climate change strategy

This partnership document is designed to tackle the causes and effects of climate change in Northamptonshire.

An updated strategy has been developed for 2014-17:

Developed by local authorities and other partners in the county, the strategy has agreed targets around reducing the amount of CO2 emissions per capita in the county and adapting to climate change.

To help achieve these targets, the strategy sets out a framework for action by partners to:

  • raise awareness of the issue of climate change and its impact on Northamptonshire
  • reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the county
  • plan for and adapt to the predicted impacts of climate change
