PERMANENT OPPORTUNITY NORTHAMPTONSHIRE’S SAFEGUARDING AND CARE PLANNING SERVICE – SOUTH FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER 1 FTE Post £20, 935 to £23,796 (Grade H) We are looking for experienced and dynamic family support workers to join our vibrant and enthusiastic teams of qualified social workers. You will need to be flexible, creative, supportive, and willing to engage in a wide range of activities to help deliver positive interventions for vulnerable children and families in receipt of statutory child protection services. You should have the following: • Experience of working in the field of family support or in a similar role working with children and families. • Awareness of current legislation relating to the job such as the Children Acts 1989 and 2004, Adoption and Children Act, Public Law and Human Rights, Health and Safety legislation • Understanding and use of an assessment framework • Experience of basic IT skills – ability to use Word and Excel to produce reports, complete correspondence and maintain accurate and up to date records • Good assessment and analytical skills • Good verbal, written and communication skills • Good organisational skills • Ability and experience of establishing and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues and external agencies • Ability and experience of establishing and maintaining professional relationships with children, young people and their parents/ carers • Understanding the concept of risk and the management of these factors These are permanent positions that are subject to an enhanced DBS checks and references.
