Inspiring Entrepreneurs: Women Mean Business Screening

Mark International Women’s Day with an evening of celebration, story-telling and expertise-sharing.

Annie Hawkins, owner of local business Simply Coconuts, will be at Hunsbury Library prior to the screening to talk about her business journey to date. Annie’s range of coconut based baby products will launch in March and during the evening there will be a product giveaway!

Following Annie's talk, we will be screening live from the British Library Knowledge Centre to hear from a panel of some of the UK’s most inspirational women in business. Learn from the success and achievements of women entrepreneurs, gain strategies to overcome obstacles and look to the future.

Hilary Devey CBE: business woman and entrepreneur, ex-BBC Dragon and CEO of freight distribution company Pall-Ex Group. In 2009, Devey made history as the first woman to win the prestigious Sir Robert Lawrence award for her contribution to the logistics and transport profession.

Dessi Bell: co-founder of award-winning activewear brand Zaggora. Well-known for their Hotpants and Hotwear clothing line, Zaggora has helped over 1 million happy customers in 143 countries get results, with 97% saying they would recommend Zaggora to a friend.

Foluke Akinlose MBE: founder of Precious magazine and awards recognising the professional achievements of women of colour in the UK. The Precious awards have prompted successive UK Prime Ministers and leading political voices to passionately proclaim their support and administration.
