Free music downloads

The Northamptonshire Libraries free music download service is provided through Freegal and is available to both full and virtual members.

You can apply for a virtual library membership online or visit your local library to become a full member.

  • Download up to three songs per week
  • Content based on agreements with over 10,000 music labels, including the labels of Sony Music Entertainment
  • Hundreds of different music genres

The Freegal Music website is designed to be used on the web so there is no software to download.

For mobile devices there is an app that is compatible with Apple and Android devices. Once you have downloaded the app please use the search term, Northamptonshire, then choose Northamptonshire Libraries from the results.

Go to the log in page and enter your library card number (including the D preceding the number) and also your 4 digit PIN number. If you do not know or have forgotten your PIN please request a new PIN to ask for it to be emailed to you.

For further general information on how to use the music download service please refer to the frequently asked questions document.

For information on how to install and use the mobile app please refer to the Freegal app document.
