There is just one week left for youth organisations to get their applications in for a slice of Northamptonshire County Council’s small grants fund.
Thousands of pounds is up for grabs and organisations can now apply for up to £10,000 and applications can be decided in as little as six weeks.
Since its launch in 2006, the youth small grants scheme has enabled around 200 organisations to set up a range of youth projects and initiatives.
The latest organisations which have benefitted are;
- Northants Community Mobile Studio £9,060
- Northamptonshire Association of Youth Clubs £4,959
- Access All Areas £9,999
- Sikh Community & Youth Centre £6,968
- ChessPoint Services £4,600
Cabinet member for children and young people Cllr Andrew Grant said: "The youth small grants scheme has proved extremely popular and the money has been used to set up dozens of wide-ranging initiatives and projects.
“We hope to encourage more organisations to come forward and apply for small grants to enable positive youth work activities. The grant value for each project is set at between £2,500 and £10,000 to enable more young people to be involved in local activities.”
A county council youth work grants and monitoring office will advise and support any organisation that comes forward with a new youth work activity proposal.
The closing date for applications is October 5th.
