Northamptonshire County Council is seeking volunteers to serve on the independent appeal panels for schools across the county.
Independent Appeal Panels consider and decide parents’ appeals for admission of their child to a preferred school. Full training will be provided.
We are inviting applicants with or without an educational background, who can attend appeals and training between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. during term time.
A previous panel member has said: “I feel that as a panel member, I can actively assist in ensuring that no child has been wrongly refused a school place or unfairly disadvantaged.
“ I am always aware of the responsibility and trust which is placed in us as panel members acting in an independent capacity to make decisions which are binding on schools and local authorities. “
