Run '11 aims to raise thousands for charity

24 August 2011

Organisers of The Run '11 are aiming for the event to raise thousands for charity.

The Run '11 is fast approaching with just over four weeks left to train and anyone taking part can help raise money for any charity of their choice.

There are also five official Run '11 partner charities – The Stroke Association, MacMillan Cancer Support, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, the Northamptonshire Community Foundation and The Lowdown, plus for the first time this year, the Run ’11 is supporting newly-established charity, Always A Chance.

Over 100 supporters have signed up so far to help raise money for Always A Chance – a local charity set up to unite in the fight against violence in memory of James Cooper and James Kouzaris who were tragically shot dead in Sarasota, Florida in April this year.

Paul Davies, one of the founders of Always a Chance, said: “We are very pleased to have such a profiled event to publicise our charity and we are looking forward to pounding the streets of Northampton to get the ball rolling. We will be running ‘Together As One’ and urge people to join us, not only in the physical challenge of the 5km or 10km runs, but in the fight against violence.” For more information about Always a Chance please visit www.alwaysachance.org.uk

There is still time to enter this year’s event, start training and get sponsors. To enter, get training tips and more visit www.the-run.org.uk
