Northamptonshire County Council is asking people to have their say on plans and policies for the future of transport in Northamptonshire.
The Northamptonshire Transportation Plan examines a variety of issues including what sort of transport measures are needed to facilitate economic and population growth in the county.
It also looks at what transport options are available to reduce congestion on the roads and how measures can be taken to reduce carbon emissions.
To allow people to have their say, a series of workshops have been organised across the county but they can also respond in writing and via email.
Cllr Andre Gonzalez De Savage, county council cabinet member for infrastructure and public protection, said: “Northamptonshire is a dynamic county and as such it is essential that we keep up to date with the Northamptonshire transport plan.
“It is essential that we plan for the future so that the infrastructure that we have is fit for purpose and can also evolve to accommodate economic and population growth.
“The main direction of the plan has been established but what we now need is input from the public on how the ideas can be further refined.”
The consultation period will last for eight weeks and will close on Friday, January 20, 2012.
All of the comments and responses received during consultation will assist in finalising the new plan with the final document to be presented to the county council for approval in March 2012.
The plan, along with other associated documents, is available to download from here.
