Good news for Buzz travellers

22 July 2013

There’s good news for bus travellers in Northampton as the price of the Buzz Card has been frozen until 2014.

What is the Buzz Card?

The Buzz Card offers unlimited travel across Northampton borough including Grange Park, Boughton and Moulton. The Buzz Card is valid on most bus services run by Centrebus, Country Lion, First, Meridian Bus, Roy's Minibuses, Stagecoach, Uno and Z&S International.

Day tickets remain at £4.20, weekly Buzz Cards are £15.50 and four-weekly cards are £51.

The Buzz Card was introduced in 2006 by Northamptonshire County Council in partnership with bus operators to give passengers a ticket that allows them to make unlimited journeys on most bus services in Northampton.

Councillor Michael Clarke, cabinet member for transport, highways and environment said: “The Buzz Card is always very popular as it provides passengers with an easy and cost-effective way to get unlimited bus travel across Northampton.

“I’m pleased that we have been able to freeze prices for this year; this should come in handy especially as the school holidays are beginning and families plan their summer activities and days out.”

How to get a Buzz Card

Day Buzz Cards are available to buy from the bus driver, weekly Buzz Cards can be purchased from the bus driver or a PayPoint outlet and four-weekly Buzz Cards are only available from a PayPoint outlet.
