It’s not too late to nominate a loved one for a Northamptonshire Carers Award

10 December 2014

Dozens of nominations have been received for this year’s Northamptonshire Jane Roebuck Carers Awards which recognise the efforts of people who care for a friend, relative or partner.

The awards are open to anyone who lives in the county who regularly looks after a loved one and is unpaid for carrying out their caring role.

About the awards

There are three categories in the 2014 Northamptonshire Jane Roebuck Carers Awards:

  • Young Carer of the Year 2014 (Under 18)
  • Carer of the Year 2014
  • Shining Star Award (A special person who goes that extra mile to support carers in education, health, social care, employer, etc)

Cllr Suresh Patel, county council cabinet member for adult social care, said: “The Northamptonshire Carers Awards are a fantastic opportunity for us to recognise the incredible contribution made by the thousands of unpaid carers across Northamptonshire.

“Many people do not even see themselves as a carer, it’s just something they do for someone they care about. That’s why we’re inviting people to say thank you by nominating them for the Northamptonshire Jane Roebuck Carers Awards.”

The awards will take place at Barton Hall in Kettering on Wednesday 28 January 2015, and the deadline for nominations is Friday 2 January.
