A business start-up event will take place from 10am to 1pm on Friday 31st January at the Central Library in Northampton.
About the event
This free event is for anyone thinking about starting a business, or anyone who has started a business within the last year.
The event is hosted by Northamptonshire County Council's library service and Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership (NEP), who are collaborating to offer a range of information resources and a series of free workshops, including business planning and social media training.
Aspiring entrepreneurs will be able to get information and advice from banks, accountants and a range of local business support organisations. The event will also provide an opportunity to meet with like-minded business people in the area.
There will also be question and answer sessions hosted by local people who have recently set up their own business with the support of NEP and the library service.
Colin Lewis, Business Support Manager, NEP, commented: “Starting a new business can be a positive life-changing experience. It can also bring major challenges. These can be met head-on with the right kind of professional one-to-one support, training sessions and networking opportunities.
Councillor Heather Smith, county council deputy leader and cabinet member for customers and communities said: “The business start-up events are part of a range of events and activities offered by libraries to equip people with the skills and confidence they need to develop their business idea from concept to market, plus libraries also offer access to a wealth of advice and information to help fledgling businesses in the early stages.”
This event will highlight the support available and demonstrate why starting a new enterprise can be a shared and much less daunting experience from the very beginning.”
