Family fun day for children who receive pre-school education support

01 June 2015

Families who receive support from the portage and SEN early years team are being invited to a special picnic and fun day to celebrate Portage Awareness Week.

Northamptonshire County Council’s portage and SEN early years team supports children aged four and under who have additional educational needs, development delay or disabilities.

What is portage?

Portage is a home-visiting education service for those children which aims to build on their individual strengths, encourage social interaction with other children and support families.

To mark Portage Awareness Week, children with additional needs, along with their parents and siblings, are being invited to a soft play session and picnic at Brixworth Country Park on Saturday 13th June from 1pm to 3.30pm.

The portage and SEN early years team will also be at Weston Favell shopping centre in Northampton on Tuesday 16th June between 12pm and 3pm to share information about the service and what it offers.
