Type of service:
Breaks-Away Respite Services CIC provide person-centred day or holiday breaks for adults with disabilities. The holidays are funded by personal budgets or direct payments and can give families some respite from their caring roles.
With Breaks-Away, young adults can choose where they'd
like to go with existing friends, or they can explore opportunities
to make new friends.
Breaks-Away are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC). They have provided opportunities for both small groups and individuals to try new and exciting activities while enhancing social and independence skills. Previous breaks have included destinations such as Centre Parcs, Potter's Holiday Resort, Disneyland Paris, zoos, museums, and the Harry Potter Studios.
A home visit is always carried out before trips take place, to ensure Breaks-Away can meet all the young person's needs. They also hold social activities and 'get-to-know-you' sessions before holidays take place.
Please note: Breaks-Away do not have specific opening times. All trips and holidays are specially arranged to suit the families, young people, and staffing availability. All day trips and holidays are advertised on their webpage, but they look forward to hearing suggestions from service users.
