Service description:
The Shared Lives scheme offers an alternate form of accommodation and support in people's own homes either on a long term basis or short term/respite basis, for vulnerable adults from the age of 16 years. The scheme supports a range of people including those with a learning disability, mental health issue or dementia to live within a supported family environment, to help maintain their well-being and promote their independence.

The Shared Lives Scheme recruits experienced carers and provides training and support and monitoring to ensure carers can meet the needs of customers. Customers are carefully matched with suitable carers to meet their needs and provide the support that is right for them. The Shared Lives Scheme carries out regular visits to both customers and carers to make sure the support provided is appropriate.
