Service description:
The Disability Resource Centre offer outreach services throughout Northamptonshire and were previously known as Northamptonshire Centre For Independent Living (NCIL)

The Disability Resource Centre provides a range of FREE services empowering people of all ages who are affected by disability or health conditions to fulfil their potential and aspirations. They help disabled people, carers and families across Northamptonshire.

Whatever your question, they will provide advice and information to help you find the right solution. Topics may include support groups, blue-badge form filling, holidays, recreational activities, transport, accessible venues and home services.

Information can be provided to you in a variety of ways including by telephone, post or email. They run information and equipment drop-in clinics at partner venues throughout Northamptonshire – for details please see the website or ring.

Welfare Benefits: They can help with all disability benefits, benefit checks, disability benefits appeals and preparation for tribunals.

Outreach Service
They also take services out into the community – please see the website for venues. If you would like a member of the team to come along to your club or society to talk to people in a friendly and informal, yet informative manner then please contact us.


There are many useful everyday items to help you live a more independent life. Please make an appointment to see a member of trained staff at a local outreach venues. They can advise you on a wide range of mobility and living aids. They can advise on dressing aids, kitchen aids, wheelchairs and walking aids, as well as larger equipment.

The Second-Hand Equipment Service
Buy or sell your second-hand equipment using their register. The register is displayed on the website and distributed upon request.

Support to Understand your Money (SUM)):
This programme provides group and one-to-one support to help you effectively manage your money and maximise your income. Support includes IT, employment guidance, benefits advice and tools and strategies to manage finances.

Employment Support: Please enquire about free training and support programmes that can help people get into work. Various group and one-to-one sessions include aspects of personal development and employability skills.
