Variety supports disabled and disadvantaged
children across the UK. Grants for specialist equipment are available for children and young people who have a recognised disability or long term health condition and who are permanently resident in
Registered non-profit making agencies who work predominantly
with disabled or disadvantaged children and young people are also eligible to apply for funding for specialist equipment.
Variety can help when statutory funding cannot adequately meet a child's need. They have four broad but flexible programmes that can respond specifically to the needs of each child or organisation.
• Manual, powered and sports wheelchairs for children, young people and sports clubs
• Specialist equipment for children and young people directly, as well as schools, youth clubs and other child-focused non-profit organisations
• Specially adapted, accessible transport (Sunshine Coaches)
• Memorable experiences through the 'Great Days Out' programme (this is only open to
schools and registered organisations).
