Coram Family and Childcare (was previously known as the Family and Childcare Trust) is a leading national family charity in the field of policy, research and advocacy on childcare and family issues.
The charity works with local authorities, schools, and providers of family services to train them to deliver government initiatives and improve the quality of their provision. They also run a range of parent- led programmes aimed at providing support for parents. Their research reveals new insights and helps them formulate innovative policy solutions to ensure families are supported and have genuine choice.
Parent-led programmes include:
• Young Dads Collective
Aims to reduce the levels of isolation and poverty experienced by young dads under the age of 25.
• Parent Champions
Parent volunteers who give a few hours a week to talk to other local parents about accessing childcare and other local family services.
• Parent-Led Childcare/
Not for profit childcare designed and co-delivered by parents, for parents.
• Little Village
A baby bank scheme that collects good-quality baby clothes and equipment, donated by local families, and works with health visitors and children’s centres to make sure this kit gets to families that can’t afford it.
