Service description:
Child Bereavement UK supports families and educates professionals when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement.

In the UK, when a baby or child dies, or a child is bereaved, many of those affected are unable to access good quality support which meets their individual needs. Child Bereavement UK believes all families should have the support they need to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies.

The national helpline is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. This helpline is available for offering support and information or a confidential listening ear to parents, carers, professionals and anyone who may have been affected by a bereavement.

They can offer booked telephone support for parents who have been bereaved of a baby or child if there is no local support and offer parenting support for parents or carers who are supporting bereaved children.

Young People’s Advisory Group (YPAG)

Children and young people up to the age of 25, who have been bereaved of someone special are supported through monthly support sessions that can be either individually or as a family. There are also groups for children and young people.

A group for bereaved young people to get together and meet others who have also experienced the death of someone important in their life. The group meet regularly to work on projects to create resources that will help other bereaved young people. Sessions are free to attend. You just need to have access to transport to and from the group and be aged 11-25. The groups take place after school in the evenings, between October and May.
