iDID Adventure Northampton is an award winning social enterprise improving resilience, wellbeing and confidence through access and participation in adventure sports. Members with a learning disability can attend up to age 25.
iDID offer the following adventure sports:
• Indoor Climbing (Northampton)
• Snowboarding & Skiing (Milton Keynes)
• Kayaking & Canoeing (Northampton)
• Wakeboarding (Grendon & Wyboston)
They meet once a week on a Sunday. The main activity is indoor climbing and within season this is alternated between
the other sports. iDID specialise in working with people with disability, be that physical, mental or sensory. iDID are supported by volunteers who are proficient in the sports on offer. iDID also have volunteers who are BSL users to support hard of hearing participants and for visually impaired participants sight guided climbing is on offer.
The Inclusive Climbing Club started in May 2018 running every Sunday, 10- 12pm, term times only, at The Pinnacle Centre and is for young people age 12-19 with additional needs and aims to reduce social isolation, increase self worth and build resilience. £15 per session.
