NHFT's specialist service for people with learning disabilities comprises two Community Teams for People with Learning Disabilities (CTPLDs) and an Intensive Support Team (IST).

The CTPLDs provide specialist healthcare service for adults who have a learning disability (IQ below 70) and health need that requires input. They aim to support people with learning disabilities and related health needs to lead happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.

The IST provides community assessment and treatment for adults with learning disabilities experiencing mental ill health or behaviour that challenges.
   •  Learning Disabilities - Intensive Support Team (Tel: 01536 452149)

The team offers a short breaks service (at 1 Willow Close in Northampton) for adults who have learning disabilities and associated complex health needs. It operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
   •  Learning Disabilities - Inpatients Respite (Tel: 01604 588657)

The team also provides the Opportunities for You service, which offers individual tailored packages of care for children and adults.
