Service description:
The Child and Adolescent Bereavement Service (CABS) offers individual and group bereavement counselling to children and adolescents in the Northamptonshire area. They also offer support to families where a member has a terminal illness. Counselling can take place in a school setting, at the Northampton General Hospital (NGH), or the children's out-patients department.

CABS offer support to parents, carers, school staff, or agencies. They also deliver training to schools and agencies.

CABS is run by a full-time qualified bereavement coordinator and administration support. They work alongside volunteer bereavement counsellors, who are fully-trained in counselling, and cover areas such as person-centred counselling, psychodynamics, and cognitive behaviours.
