Service description:
The Educational Psychology Service (EPS) work to promote positive child development and learning through the application of psychology – the study of the mind and learning, human behaviour and relationships.

The EPS help children and young people overcome barriers to successful learning.
These barriers might arise from:
•learning difficulties and special educational needs (SEN)
• behavioural, social or emotional needs
• physical, medical or sensory needs

EPS may be contacted for help and advice by:
• a school or early years setting
• a parent
• a health professional
• an additional needs teacher
• a pre-school teacher
• a social worker
• other professionals working with children

EPS will offer consultation on concerns raised and agree an action plan.

If the concern is about a child, parental permission must have been given before they will be involved.
