Service description:
The National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCo) is a training programme supported by the government. This modular masters programme builds on the experience that SENCOs have.

It's mandatory for those new to the role of SENCo (defined as starting after September 2008) to undertake this training. Anyone in post before that date (current school or in a previous school) does not need to take the training. SENCOs have three years to successfully complete the programme.
